Gonzalo BONTEMPO

Gonzalo Bontempo is a Spanish international rugby union player who currently plays for RC Massy Essonne. Born in Argentina before moving to Spain at the age of five, he developed through the Spanish rugby pathway before joining Biarritz Olympique's academy and later CA Brive's academy, where he continued his development in one of France's most competitive environments.

After beginning his senior career with USA Limoges, Gonzalo continued his progression with Rennes Étudiants Club, establishing himself as one of the most consistent backs in Nationale. In 2024, he joined RC Massy Essonne, bringing his experience, versatility and leadership to one of France's most ambitious clubs. SAGAA was entrusted by RC Massy Essonne to facilitate Gonzalo's arrival at the club, supporting the recruitment process that led to his signing. On the international stage, he has become a regular member of the Spanish national team (Los Leones), contributing to Spain's qualification for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.Capable of playing both fly-half (10) and inside centre (12), Gonzalo combines excellent game management with strong tactical awareness.

A reliable goal-kicker with impressive long-range accuracy, he is recognised for his distribution, kicking game, defensive commitment and ability to control the tempo of a match. His versatility, composure under pressure and international experience make him a valuable asset for both club and country.
